The journey starts with Eurydice heading town to the underworld in hopes for a better life. She has heard praises about life in Hades, despite the never ending labor, it couldn’t be worse than the famine Eurydice is experiencing at the moment. In spite of being in love with fellow human Orpheus, she follows Hades into the underworld. Upon discovering the fate of his love, Orpheus goes on the journey to bring Eurydice back where she belongs. But the road to hell is not easy. Despite having the help from Persephone, Orpheus and Eurydice still rely on Hades’ decision whether he’ll let the ill-fated factory worker go. Will Orpheus and Eurydice be reunited? Spearheaded by Tony and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and playwright Anais Mitchell, who singlely handedly wrote the book, music and lyrics, Hadestown brings a whole new perspective on Greek mythology.
